Welcome to my website. In my 25 years of editing at various securities research brokers, I have identified a number of overall weaknesses among Thai writers. One is that Thai schools and universities offer no writing courses for students. In contrast, schools in America and other native-speaking countries teach students the elements of writing, grammar, punctuation, sentence construction, and log since as young as elementary school. Students are assigned to read a selection and write a report for homework. They are given a mark A, B, C, D or F, and their writing scores are included in the overall final grade at the end of each term.

In my 25 years of editing at various securities research brokers, I have identified a number of overall weaknesses among Thai writers. One key problem is that Thai schools and universities offer no writing courses for students. In contrast, schools in America and other native-speaking countries teach students the elements of writing, grammar, punctuation, sentence construction, since as early as elementary school. Students are assigned to read a story and write a report for homework, and their story is given an A, B, C, D or F by the teacher. Writing scores are included in the student’s grade at the end of each term.

The tips that I provide here are intended to bring the Thai writer up to provide a shortcut to the key elements of writing, such as the use of Subject-Verb-Object, sentence length,  layout of ideas based on the “inverted pyramid,” etc.

My experience editing a wide range of subjects can also help you with the following:

THE NATION

Writing in English is much different than writing in Thai. The Thai language has no plural form, tenses, or personal pronouns to designate sex. It is also difficult to construct a sentence with a logical sequence of events.

So, always remember to provide the following vital details of every event: "Who, What, Where, When, Why and How". Also, be sure to be specific, i.e., is it "shareholder" or "shareholders"? Use the correct tense to show clearly if an event already happened (and if so, when), or if it is to happen in the future (if so, when). Also, what is the expectation based on? Management guidance? Your assumption?
